HELLO dear developpers,

As I can see, many users are waiting for the return of HBBTV.

This afternoon I tried it in others images like VTI and openatv and it works perfect.

Could you please do something for us ?

When it works in other images why do the ones who fix it push a merge request to the manufacturers bsp? At this moment it is vu itself that disabled the feature in the bsp.

Hi WanWizzard,

HBBTV is functional natively (no Need to install the extra HBBTV extension) on Vu Duo 4K with the last original image of Vu+.
Is that possible for you to fix it now in openpli ?
Bests regards

There are currently some channels that use HbbTV only to point you to install a special app on your smart tv or device.... is bbc doing the same?....

It doesn't when it is enabled in the BSP VU+ has provided us.

So mosy likely other images have a different / fixed version, as it is supplied as a binary, which means VU+ needs to update their BSP.

You don't have to, I believe you. That however doesn't help us one single bit...

Thank you for all your answers Wanwizard. Do you think HBBTV comes back one day in openpli for Vu+ ?

That depends on whether VU+ will fix it or not. Given the number of times we've asked, don't hold your breath.

HbbTV for Open boxes is dead. The providers have won this battle...

HbbTV was never open.

Which is the source of these problems, not the providers, the HbbTV spec is very clear and publicly available.

They have their own bsp layer so they can work a round it. We use one from the manufacturer.
